Next year, the 15th National Games will be the first time for the Games to be cohosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. To better understand the preparatory work for the Games, Hong Kong China Sports Alliance organized "Road to the 15th National Games——Delegation to the Greater Bay Area" to Nansha over the weekend of 30 Nov to 1 Dec.

One of the highlights of the delegation was visiting the large urban complex for sports and culture in Nansha. Covering 186,000 square meters, the Nansha comprehensive stadium can host up to 60,000 audiences. The comprehensive stadium, together with a nearby natatorium, an athletes center and other related facilities make up a large urban complex for sports and culture. The stadium, inspired by traditional Chinese fan, has an asymmetrical structure that offers most of the seats a stunning view of the sea, as the stadium is built close to the shore.

“UNITED IN SPORTS, BOUND BY THE CHINESE DREAM” The Sports Hall of the Fok Ying Tung Memorial

“UNITED IN SPORTS, BOUND BY THE CHINESE DREAM” The Sports Hall of the Fok Ying Tung Memorial opened officially in Nansha, Guangzhou, on 1 Dec 2024. This was another key highlight of our delegation, providing a great opportunity for young athletes to learn about Mr. Henry Fok Ying Tung's passion and significant contributions to Chinese sports development.

The memorial is divided into 6 exhibition areas, which explain Mr. Henry Fok's reform and opening up philosophy and struggle in life, with the help of a variety of exhibition methods such as physical objects, text, images, multimedia interaction, models, and art installations. We hope that the athletes will be inspired by the exhibition and continue to strive for the long-term development of sports in our country and Hong Kong.
